Jean-Philippe Vert

Jean-Philippe Vert is the Chief R&D Officer at Owkin, an AI Techbio company focused on developing treatments for unmet medical needs. He co-founded Bioptimus, which creates AI foundation models in biology, and is a professor (on leave) at PSL University Mines Paris. Previously, he worked at Google Brain, leading a team in machine learning and computational biology, and held positions at ENS Paris, UC Berkeley, and the Curie Institute. Jean-Philippe earned degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and corps des Mines, and completed his PhD in mathematics at Paris University. His research focuses on statistical machine learning and AI for complex data modeling in computational biology and medicine.
