Lionel Guillou

Lionel works at the intersection of engineering and biology to improve healthcare. He is currently leading the development of AI-based cancer diagnostics using digital pathology images at Owkin. Previously, Lionel worked as an analyst at McKinsey focused on complex models and predictions, and developed first-in-class AI-based sepsis diagnostics tests at Cytovale, from initial POC to FDA approval.

Lionel was trained as an engineer at Ecole Polytechnique, then learned to apply engineering to medical problems at Stanford University, completing his education by a PhD at Ecole Polytechnique on cell biophysics.
